The ninth International Conference on Wind Turbine Noise is organized by INCE/Europe, 18-21 May2021. This biennial event will be held online from Europe in the same spirit that Quiet Drone 2020 Symposium last October which enabled participants to meet in a very successful way.
It will bring together all those who work to understand, control and manage the noise from wind turbines: turbines manufacturers, wind farms developers, researchers in aeroacoustics, psychoacoustics, environmental acoustics, consultants, as well as regulation authorities and objectors. Over 4 days, fifty papers and conversations will be presented, followed by discussions sessions which will constitute the backbone of the meeting. There are already delegates from 25 countries participating. The Program and booking instructions are given on the website.
Since it’s first edition in 2005, WTN conferences have tried to bring together all those involved in the various aspects of the problem, including objectors and this had hopefully, contributed to progress in better understanding and communication, as well as significant technical improvements in the control of noise. For this meeting, in addition to the technical sessions covering all research and development aspects with extended (and not only scientific !) discussions, we will have two « conversation sessions » of 45 min. each, to discuss interactions between neighbors, manufacturers and wind farm developers:
Conversation 2: Thursday 20th May 2021 13:00 CEST
Frits van den Berg talks to Mirjam Davidson and Anne Struijs of RWE about working with neighbours
Conversation 3: Friday 21st May 2021 13:00 CEST
Frits van den Berg talks to Aileen Jackson and Rosemary Milne about what it is like to live near wind turbines
